7th Grade B Day Dreamcatchers
After a lesson reviewing the principle of design, balance, we explored radial balance more in depth using dreamcatchers. After learning a bit about the history of dreamcatchers, we made our own. After showing two examples to the students (one mine and the other a student sample) we got started.
We created these using a wax resist technique with crayons and liquid watercolors. Students practiced using compasses to create circles and I demonstrated how to do feathers.
