Interested in summer art programs?

I am presently working with students who are interested in either art schools or summer art programs. My help is limited to teaching concepts and asking guiding questions...Most of these programs do not want direct adult involvement in the production of the work or school projects. Many students choose to use a technique they learned in class to create their projects and that's fine too!

Here is some of the work by one of my talented sixth graders out of South Carolina!

Perspective landscape using the aluminum foil relief technique. She enjoyed the original project so much she just had to try it again! This came out beautifully. We did have a refresher lesson on one and two point perspective because she wanted to understand how to show the road curving.

Self portrait...This required the use of a projector! She emailed me picture updates of her progress...It took her an impressive three days to create this! The background was created with tessellations.

Negative/positive space study. She got her inspiration from Pinterest using her own flowers and fruit (artificial of course) to draw. This took her F.O.R.E.V.E.R.

Still life with three favorite objects. She worked on this right up to the day of...Three weeks of hard work! She takes my advice of drawing light until you get it right to heart.

I have been working with this student for many years and she has grown in ability by leaps and bounds.

One of her early still life attempts, Dec/Jan 2016

Early drawing from life studies Dec. 2015

Her growth is evident...She works hard to improve and it shows!
